About Us
What is APLMA?
In November 2014, the Asia-Pacific Heads of Government (“Leaders”) adopted the goal of freeing the region of malaria by 2030. The Asia Pacific Leaders Malaria Alliance (APLMA) is the coalition of those Leaders dedicated to achieving that goal. It seeks to accelerate malaria control and elimination and address the last-mile challenges to doing so. APLMA is working to ensure that people across the region, even in the hardest-to-reach areas, can finally live free of this historic scourge.
Our History & Mandate
The Leaders tasked APLMA’s Co-Chairs to develop a roadmap for eliminating malaria from the Asia-Pacific by 2030. The result, the Leaders’ Malaria Elimination Roadmap, has been developed with the support of the APLMA Secretariat in extensive consultation with experts and officials from across the region. It identifies six essential priorities the Leaders are supporting to realize their 2030 goal.
APLMA & APMEN Partnership
APLMA and APMEN work in partnership to eliminate malaria in Asia-Pacific. Together our focus is on supporting governments to serve Asia-Pacific’s most vulnerable communities, by mobilising innovations and tailored solutions across stakeholders to end malaria, the world’s oldest pandemic.
Board of Directors
APLMA’s Board maintains high-level and strategic oversight of the Alliance’s work towards realizing the APLMA Leaders’ Roadmap. This includes responsibility for governance and due diligence.
APLMA-APMEN Secretariat
The APLMA-APMEN Secretariat is a Singapore-registered organisation working to support malaria elimination focused outcomes across Asia-Pacific. APMEN works to generate evidence on the ground, while building capacity, particularly in high burden countries. APLMA translates evidence to advocate for policy change at the highest levels of government and supports leadership collaboration across the region.
Work With Us
Ending malaria requires an all-hands-on-deck approach. APLMA is continually searching for creative, results-oriented candidates and suppliers with the expertise and skillsets to strengthen our work and help us reach our goal.
