APLMA commends Dato Sri Tahir, Jonathan Tahir and the Tahir Foundation for their strong commitment to malaria elimination in Indonesia.

The Tahir Foundation, a partner to the Global Fund, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and APLMA, pledged US$26.5 million for malaria elimination programs in Indonesia. The Tahir Foundation's pledge also unlocked an additional matching contribution of $26.5 million for the Global Fund programs by the UK Government's Department for International Development.

The Tahir Foundation is a pioneering partner and founding investor of M2030. In August 2019, APLMA and the Tahir Foundation signed an MOU and launched M2030 in Indonesia. In addition, Jonathan Tahir is a member of the M2030 Champions Council, and plays a key role in keeping the spotlight on malaria elimination in Indonesia and the region. The Foundation’s recent pledge to the Global Fund cements the Tahir Foundation’s standing as the largest philanthropist for global health in Asia.
