Located in East Asia, the Republic of Korea is part of the WHO E2025 initiative.
To comprehensively and systematically eliminate malaria, they have established a 5-year malaria elimination action plan with three objectives: universal access to malaria diagnosis and treatment, malaria surveillance and optimization of evaluation, and establishment of a system of cooperation across the public, private, and military sectors. In doing so, they aim to strengthen local government capacity.
Currently among the countries making up 1% of the Asia Pacific’s malaria burden, the Republic of Korea aims to eliminate malaria by 2025.
